Since getting a Google Home Hub (which, I am a fan of), I’ve noticed a bit of an oddity when it comes to the pronunciation of one of my preferred radio stations, BBC Radio 5 Live.
Now I fully understand that due to the oddities of the English language, the word “live” has two pronunciations depending upon use. So as a verb, it sounds like this /lɪv/ , and as an adjective its this: /laɪv/.
I decided to capture it on video and will be having a dig around in the next week to try and work out why the following happens…
